ADA signs’ main purpose is to identify accessible features and allow visually impaired occupants to read them. To do this, they need tactile and clear visual characters. Tactile characters can mean braille or raised letters, but including just tactile characters isn’t enough. You need to place your sign within a standard height range so the visually impaired can easily find the braille and the spacing and height of the characters must adhere to certain standards so they’re readable by those with low-vision.
